Urgent River update.
As of 5:00 p.m. Wednesday July 3rd sheriff Gary Caruana has lifted the no wake zone on the Rock River.
The national weather service has greatly reduced the projected water level increase due to the last couple days of rain.
As with any River if conditions were to change drastically overnight and update will be issued as needed.
Restrictions for the July 4th holiday before and after fireworks display no wake zone will be posted tomorrow morning.
Boaters are reminded that with all the rain river levels are elevated and the current is a little stronger than normal.
Also there has been some disruption to the tripwire at the dam south of Chestnut Street bridge so practice extreme caution if you must go in that area.
Please be extra vigilant this 4th of July weekend so we can all return home safe.
