River Update

River update:
The Rock River has crested from Janesville to here.
The pecatonica River however still has a few more days until crest.
This is why we will only see the river slowly start to recede.

Having a dock on the river this year is like Russian roulette.

With the current moving as fast as it is and the large rootball trees still coming down the river we all wake up every morning to make sure our equipment is still there and breathe a sigh of relief.

Late yesterday a water logged root ball tree came by the Rock River townhomes north of Riverside bridge and did catastrophic damage.

It then proceeded down and got stuck on my Marina and almost took that out.

I did my best to get it stuck on the north side of the country club Island and hope it stays there.

The gates on the dam I believe are at full open but the volume of water coming down is the reason the flood plains have water in them and will for the next 7 to 10 days.

This has forced the ski Bronx to lose the national tournament at their show site which is a big economic loss for Winnebago county.

None of us would ever have dreamed this would be the summer from hell.
