River Open -7/29/24

River update.

Sheriff Gary Caruana has lifted the no wake this morning.

Water levels are low downtown and an adjustment is going to be made to the dam to bring it closer to minimum spec.

With the flood that we just came out of there is going to be a lot of damaged docks and some boat lifts not where they were before the flood so please use extreme caution.

Small rain events will water the grass and not raise the water level so let’s hope this week’s rain stays on the light side.

The tripwire is not intact at the dam and the current is still extremely strong so please be cautious when boating downtown.
And if you have not had your boat in the water yet this year make sure you have an anchor with a long rope to secure you if you have engine trouble.

We are all optimistic that no wake River levels are behind us and we can start moving forward with the rest of our 2024 boating season on the rock river.
