Labor Day Weekend Update

Weekend River update.

Current River temperature is 74° due to the last week’s heat wave.

The inch of rain that we received was a blessing for area Rivers which were starting to head towards drought.

With the river level dropping we need to be aware of The Sandbar that is north of the Latham bridge a quarter mile on the west side.

I have installed a couple of danger buoys in the area but they might not be in the exact spot.

The Sandbar that has been there forever is quite large and if someone can inform me where it starts I can get the Bouy moved there.

Labor Day typically means the end of summer.
After we lost the month of July due to high water many of us are hoping for a extended fall boating season.

It has been a relatively safe boating season on the Rock River and I hope we all can enjoy this long 3 Day weekend safely.
