A big thank you to helm corporation for taking on the task of cleaning the log jams on the bridge Street pillars.
Today’s beautiful weather along with no ice on the river made this job possible.
They’re meticulously removing the trees one by one so as to not allow them to flow downstream.
This warm weather is opening up a previously frozen River from Latham bridge south.
Wednesday night looks like the next night for making more ice on our river.
Water levels are on the lower side so there should be plenty of room for water rise should an ice jam occur.
Myself and several River residents in our area are part of the national weather service Ice spotter network.
We report every Monday morning or as conditions change to keep the weather service updated to changing ice jam conditions in our area.
