Winter Weather Update

Winter River update.

The cold weather has frozen creeks and streams with ice bite.

This along with lake koshkonong trying to drain for the winter has caused our River to go extremely low.

If you wondered what our damn looks like this is the time to be able to see a dry spillway.
The two gates are open a couple of feet but are frozen with ice at the moment.

Like many I am hoping the lack of precipitation in the winter doesn’t turn into excessive precipitation in the spring like last year.

The days are getting longer and we’re a month and a half away from daylight savings time.

The older I get the longer the winters seem in the midwest.
Another 3 months and we will be able to be back out enjoying our greatest asset. The beautiful Rock River in Winnebago county.
The last picture shows the ice jamming up just enough to push part of the log jam that was on the spillway downstream.
